If Antarctica were music it would be Mozart.  Art, and it would be Michelangelo.  Literature, and it would be Shakespeare  And yet it is something even greater; the only place on earth that is still as it should be. May we never tame it.

Antarctica's beauty truly defies words.  It's not an easy place to visit, but if you pull it together and make the journey, you will not be disappointed.  In fact, it will likely be one of the most amazing places you will ever see - as Suzie and I discovered in January 2007.

"King penguins are much better than gentoos," he said without a hint of bitterness or acrimony.

Pictures fall short of capturing the true spirit of Antarctica; nevertheless, I did my level best to snap a few that would offer a glimpse into the highest, driest, coldest, and windiest of the continents.
