Agua Azul is also on the way to Palenque, although we enjoyed visiting the natural waterfalls after seeing the ruins because it is a good way to relax and cool off after hiking all day. The area was surprisingly busy. I could see why - the white waterfalls and turquoise pools are a real oasis in the jungle. My crummy disposable camera doesn't do it justice.
